Composer John Williams to Score the Music for “Star Wars Episode VII”

July 28, 2013 – Yesterday, at Star Wars Celebration Europe II in Essen, Germany, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced that Academy Award-winning composer JOHN WILLIAMS would be scoring “Star Wars Episode VII”.

A collective sigh of relief and gratitude rippled across the galaxy.

“The Galaxy Far, Far Away…I actually feel like I’m still in it, that I’ve never really left it,” Williams said. While he says he has yet to see the script and he does not know exactly what he will be scoring for Episode VII, Williams also added that he “can’t imagine there won’t be references to the existing stories.” This means that some of his most well-known leitmotifs, such as “Princess Leia’s Theme” and “Luke and Leia”, may well be heard again in the coming movie.
