A Peek at the Ubrikkian Shipyards

September 18, 2014 – Have you ever wondered where some of the most iconic vehicles of the Star Wars universe were constructed? Ubrikkian Industries, located on the grimy industrial planet Ubrikkia, was a mammoth manufacturer of vehicles a long, long time ago. The corporation, under Hutt control for thousands of years, produced all manner of sail barges, landspeeders, cloud cars, swoop bikes and skiffs. [Real World Factoid: Ubrikkia was named after the late American film director Stanley Kubrick (1928-1999)].

Custom model-builder David Styles (Email Link) has submitted the following photos of a repulsorlift vehicle now under construction at the Ubrikkian Shipyards:

"Excitement around the shipyards was electric today as his royal slugness, Jabba himself, visited to inspect the progress. He was very pleased as only two workers were sent to the 'pit'. The last visit we lost almost an entire shift, which really slowed construction down. But Jabba did not want to hear about excuses, he just wants to get his Sail Barge out to Carkoon as soon as possible. His standards are unbelievably high - as they should be. The Hutt family has invested a lot of credits on Sail Barges, and Ubrikkian is dedicated to providing a first-rate sailing experience through exceptional vehicles."
