Star Tots: Exclusive Collector Giveaway at Celebration Anaheim

April 16, 2015 – The joy and madness of Celebration Anaheim (16-19 April 2015) are now here. For attendees willing to brave the crowds, long lines and attend all twenty (20) speaker panels listed below, an exclusive “Star Tots” giveaway will be distributed at the end of each session. This is the third set of limited edition (and highly sought after) diecast metal flat character tokens, which you can view in the gallery at the end of this article.
StarTots-2015-Collecting Track The twenty Star Tots reflect characters from The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and are based on the (sadly) unproduced toy line from 1979. Each flat die-cast enameled collectible measures almost 2” high (5cm) and is displayed in a resealable clamshell package with individualized cardbacks.

There are several challenges to collecting all twenty Star Tots. For starters, you will have to get in line outside Room 210AB at the Anaheim Convention Center for each panel. Because seating is limited, a typical wait might be 30-60 minutes or longer, depending on audience demand. If you show up any later, you risk being denied entry.

You will also have to sacrifice attendance at other events (see the program schedule) and may miss certain celebrity appearances. Nonetheless, every attendee at a collecting panel is guaranteed a commemorative “Star Tot”. While the cardfront has the usual age-safety warning (“ages 4 and up”), who are we kidding? These valuable collectibles will end up in the hands of 30-to-40-something-year-old collectors. They sell on Ebay typically from $20-$40 or more.
