August 18, 2016 – Here’s a short, fun 360° virtual reality game you can play on your smartphone, tablet or laptop.
The video is on YouTube, where you play the part of the mouse droid onboard the Death Star. The goal is to find four hidden objects: R2-D2, a gonk droid, the Rebel Alliance insignia, and a piece of popcorn (or in Portuguese, “pipoca”).
To rotate the screen 360°, use your cursor (for tablets, laptops and PC’s) or move your phone around. But hurry, you have less than 90 seconds to complete play before a certain bounty hunter kicks you over.
The graphics are a bit primitive. But we are still in the early stages of 360° VR video. And if you give up and can’t find all four objects, the answers are in the YouTube comments.
By the way, if you were around in the 1980’s/early 1990’s playing video games, you might enjoy this retro-style video, “Star Wars Deaths” – complete with old-school midi music. Look how far we’ve come!
