While vertical construction has already started at Disneyland in Anaheim for Star Wars Land, Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Orlando) still has significant demolition work to do before it can begin construction. Nevertheless, as the following map shows, the majority of super-structures now appear to have been demolished.

The large area circled in red (14 acres) will be the future site of both Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land.

Once demolition and debris removal are completed, the next steps wil be leveling, grading, and subterranean work (utilities and service areas).

Approximately 30 percent or more of Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been walled off. While no official opening dates have been announced yet, Toy Story Land is likely to open first (best guess: 2018/2019) and Star Wars Land will likely open in stages (best guess: 2019-2021).

Meanwhile, in Anaheim….

Vertical construction is going full bore at Disneyland.
