April 3, 2017 – As of this morning, 33 Star Wars celebrities have been confirmed for autographs and photo-ops at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. And yet there are still open slots for perhaps 3 more actors or crew members.
According to the autograph schedule posted at StarWarsAuthentics.com, several “TBA” (To Be Announced) vacancies stick out like sore thumbs on the calendar. The open slots include:
● Thurs., April 13th: 11:30-12:30 PM and 3:00-4:00 PM (Autograph Line “O”)
● Fri., April 14th: 11:00-1:00 and 3:30-6:00 PM (Line “H”)
● Fri., April 14th: 5:30-6:30 PM (Line “P”)
● Sat., April 15th: 10:45-11:45 AM (Line “O”)
● Sat., April 15th: 1:30-3:00 and 3:30-6:00 PM (Line “B”)
● Sun., April 16th: 1:00-2:00 PM and 4:00-5:00 PM (Line “O”)
Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker) is only signing on one day, Friday, April 14th, for about 3.5 hours. So he will be presumably assigned to Line “B”. That still leaves a total of 13.5 hours open, listed as TBA.
TIP: Keep your eyes open daily for any schedule changes at StarWarsAuthentics.com. In the last few weeks, new talent have been posted sometime between 3:00-4:00 PM – even before the Celebration Orlando website or Facebook postings have made any announcement.
Tickets for Hayden Christensen were sold out within the first 3 hours of posting on March 31st. If you had been waiting for an official Celebration announcement, you would have missed the boat. Check the schedules at StarWarsAuthentics.com first before you look elsewhere.
So Who Else Might Show Up?
Social media are rife with pleas for Harrison Ford (not happening, he dislikes Star Wars and fan conventions); George Lucas (he’s shown up unannounced before at Celebration, but never for photos or signings); James Earl Jones (unlikely); David Prowse (reportedly banned); and Ewan McGregor (that would take a miracle, but possible, as he has expressed interest in appearing in another Star Wars movie).
It’s also possible that the remaining 13.5 hours are being held open for extended signings – say, for example, if Hayden Christensen were to agree to an additional day. Another possibility is for behind-the-scenes crew (directors, prop modelers, etc.) or other actors to fill the empty slots.
Also keep in mind that the above schedules only cover autographs. A separate schedule for photo-ops has yet to be released, presumably contingent upon filling the last few openings.
