Countdown to 2014 Star Wars Weekends

May 9, 2014 – One week from today, the Disney-Star Wars madness, mayhem and excitement begin at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida. I will be attending yet another long weekend (five weekends actually, every Friday through Sunday). This trek entails standing in long lines under Florida’s sweltering hot sun just to spend a minute or so with “celebrity” Star Wars actors and voice animators for autographs and photo opportunities. Or attending a stage show presentation or two. (Thank God for air-conditioning.) Or roaming Disney’s Hollywood Studios looking for various Star Wars-costumed actors. Or rushing the merchandise shop (really, a gigantic tent) filled with exclusive Star Wars merchandise, artwork, and even more character photo ops. And comparing notes with fellow fans and visitors. So, yes, it’s gonna be a blast!

If you’ve never attended Star Wars Weekends and you’re in the Orlando area, make a beeline for this event (every Friday/Saturday/Sunday from May 16 through June 16, 2014). Here is a photo lineup of the “celebrity” appearances.
