May 23, 2016 – Star Wars Celebration Europe will take place in less than eight weeks (July 15-17th), but collectors can already start celebrating on Friday, May 27th.
ReedPOP, a division of Reed Exhibitions, which organizes and runs Star Wars Celebration, announced today that current ticketholders will be able to purchase exclusive Star Wars pins. Based on emojis artwork from the Star Wars app, the first 4-pack will include Poe Dameron, Finn, Rey and Kylo Ren from The Force Awakens.
But there are a couple of catches: The first set of pins can only be purchased online from ReedPOPSupplyCo.com beginning May 27th at 12:00pm BST (British Standard Time)/7:00am EST/4:00am PST; the pins (along with your badge) must be picked up in London at Celebration during registration; and, according to the press release:
“If you ordered your Star Wars Celebration Europe ticket or tickets prior to May 23, 2016, you will be sent an email with your Road to Celebration login information for ReedPOPSupplyCo.com, where the pins will be made available for sale. If you purchased your ticket on or after May 23, 2016, you will be sent an email with your login information as part of your ticket confirmation.”
A second set of pins, the “Droids Emoji Pin Set”, will feature four of our favorite droids: C-3PO, R2-D2, Chopper, and BB-8. No sale date or price has been announced yet for the second set.
Both sets of pins come with a matching T-shirt.
A total of 40 emoji pins will be offered, with the first exclusive eight described above. The other 32 pins will be offered at various sites at Celebration – some can be purchased, others claimed at special events, and still others can only be traded for with Celebration staff.
