May 28, 2020 – For the last five years, six-inch scale action figures in Hasbro’s The Black Series line have come packaged in their familiar, if somewhat boring, black-and-red boxes. And prior to 2015, the figures were boxed in either the orange-and-black or blue-and-black packaging since The Black Series first launched in late 2013.
A more colorful and fresh new look will greet collectors with the next wave of TBS 6-inch figures.
The boxes appear to be color coded to match the movie or series from which each action figure is associated.
Packaging colors for each series of figures are:
The Empire Strikes Back = Blue
Return of the Jedi = Green
The Mandalorian = Copper/Burnt Sienna
The Clone Wars = Yellow
Star Wars Rebels = Purple
The side panel of each box features artwork showcasing the figure.
As a bonus, when the boxes are lined up sideways in correct order for each wave, they produce a composite picture.
All “Star Wars Rebels” figures come boxed in purple.
Certain online vendors, including EntertainmentEarth.com, are now accepting pre-orders with an estimated shipping date of August 2020. With the exception of Zeb Orrelios ($29.99), all six-inch figures are listed at $20.99.
