How to Make Baby Yoda Deviled Eggs

November 23, 2020 – Just in time for Thanksgiving, or for your next party or holiday gathering, learn to make Baby Yoda deviled eggs.

And don’t feel guilty eating these cute tyrant creations – after all, the little devil eats other creatures’ eggs as well.

Safety Tip: As this is an egg product, keep refrigerated and covered until ready to serve. Do not leave out at room temperature more than two hours. May be kept refrigerated up to 3-4 days.

This easy-to-make recipe requires the following ingredients:

  • 6 hard boiled eggs, peeled
  • 1/4 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 tsp. yellow mustard
  • Half an avocado
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • Celery (for the ears) or other green vegetable
  • Peppercorns (for the eyes) or bits of black olive
  • Icing bag – or use a sandwich bag (cut off the corner tip)
  • Icing tip, large round

How to assemble:

Peel the hard boiled eggs and, using a non-serrated knife, slice each egg lengthwise.

Remove the yolks into a medium bowl and mash them up. Add mayonnaise, yellow mustard, mashed avocado, and a pinch of salt and pepper to the bowl with the boiled egg yolks. Mix well and mash your mixture until creamy smooth. (Large chunks will clog the icing tip, so mash them well.)

Fill your icing bag with the avocado-yolk mixture. Set aside.

Cut small pieces of celery (or other hard green vegetable) about 1/2 inch in length, then cut it in half length wise. Next, cut the small piece of celery in half diagonally to make a triangle for an ear. Repeat this process to create a small pie of ears.

Take one of the egg white halves and slice it in half across the middle. (This will be the top of Baby Yoda’s pod.)

Now the real fun begins – insert Baby Yoda into his pod:

Take half a boiled egg white and, using your icing bag, pipe or fill in the middle of the half-egg with the avocado-yolk mixture. Toward the end of the egg where there is a larger amount of egg white, add an extra mound of the mixture for Baby Yoda’s head.

Next, take a quartered piece of boiled egg white and place it, inverted, behind Baby Yoda’s head toward the back of the egg.

Insert two celery triangles (or other hard green vegetable) and stick them in the sides of Baby Yoda’s head for the ears. Lastly, insert two peppercorns (or bits of black olives) to create Baby Yoda’s eyes.

Repeat the process to create additional Baby Yodas. [Recipe credit: popcornerreviews.com]

TIP: You can make the deviled eggs up to two days in advance. The key is to keep the whites and egg yolk-avocado filling separate. Wrap the egg white halves well with plastic wrap and keep the egg yolk-avocado filling sealed in a resealable plastic bag with all the air squeezed out.

The Razor Crest, Hasbro’s Newest HasLab Project, Takes Off

September 25, 2020 – No one was shocked when Hasbro announced earlier today that the Razor Crest would be its next HasLab project. Yes, there were some disappointed fans on social media who were hoping and pining for Original Trilogy goodies – a Tantive IV, perhaps, or a detailed Death Star playset. But the Mandalorian vehicle wins the day, and pre-orders have taken off.

Hasbro will produce the highly detailed Razor Crest once the target goal of 6,000 backers is reached by November 9th at 12 midnight EST.

Part of Hasbro’s The Vintage Collection, the Mandalorian vehicle comes with a 3.75-inch Mandalorian figure in Beskar armor with, for the first time, a soft-goods cape. Price is $349.99.

Hasbro says the vehicle comes with these notable features:

  • The cockpit opens to reveal a fully detailed interior with three seats that fit Vintage Collection figures
  • Detachable engines and removable hull panels to recreate the Season 1 scenes of the Jawas breaking down the ship for scrap
  • A weapons locker with included, removable, show-inspired weapons accessories to make sure your figures are always ready for whatever the galaxy throws at them
  • A carbon freezing chamber and cargo hold with cargo netting
  • Bounty hunters can make an entrance — or a fast exit — with opening rear and side doors and lowering ramps
  • Removable landing gear
  • Bunk area with space for a figure to hide

In Hasbro’s digital rendering above, dimensions of the Razor Crest are 30″L x 20″W x 10.5″H.

Within 3 1/2 hours, over 3,000 backers had already placed prepaid orders for the concept vehicle. With still 45 days to go until the November 9th deadline, production is almost guaranteed.

By 11:00pm EST on its announcement day, the Razor Crest was about to eclipse 4,000 backers.

By close of the first day of its announcement, the Razor Crest had already secured almost 4,000 backers, or 2/3 of the 6,000 backers required.

Hasbro has promised to “unlock” additional bonus features at the 8,000 and 10,000 backers threshold.

Collectors in Europe and the UK will also be able to purchase the Razor Crest through Zavvi.com. For UK buyers, the cost is £349.99.

If the crowdfunding campaign is successful, expect shipping to begin around Fall 2021.

UPDATE: 26 September 2020

The Vintage Collection Razor Crest is now fully funded. The 6,000th pre-order was made just over 24 hours after HasLab’s crowdfunding campaign began. Congratulations to Hasbro and to all fans who have placed an order.

Hasbro raised over $2 million in the first 24 hours of its HasLab campaign. That’s 6,000 backers x $349.99 per Razor Crest = $2,099,940. And pre-orders are still being accepted through November 9th.

Disney Plus Announces October 30th Premiere Date for “The Mandalorian”

September 2, 2020 – Season Two of The Mandalorian will begin on 30 October 2020 on Disney+, Disney announced today.

Set your weapons for “stun”: The Mandalorian, the Child (aka Baby Yoda), and other favorites return October 30th on Disney+.

The hugely popular live-action show, created and produced by Jon Favreau, is set after the fall of the Empire, but before the rise of the First Order.  So don’t expect any real-time appearances by Jango Fett or Boba Fett.

Per Disney’s press release: “We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

Spotted at Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge: Is That a Baby Yoda?

November 24, 2019 – Just in time for another maddening Christmas or Holiday toy search comes Baby Yoda, first introduced to us in Chapter 2 of The Mandalorian.

At the “young” age of 50 years old, Baby Yoda has popped up seemingly everywhere on social media in the last few weeks.

For those eager to acquire him/her, Disney, Hasbro and other toymakers are scrambling to meet expected high demand. CNBC is reporting that Baby Yoda apparel and accessories will soon be available at Amazon, Target, Kohl’s, Macy’s and others perhaps by Black Friday (Nov. 29th). Disney says that plush toys and other items will be rolling out in the weeks after that.

But there is another source immediately available, even if the item isn’t exactly the Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian.

Disney Releases New Posters and Official Trailer No. 2 for “The Mandalorian”

October 29, 2019 – Interest and curiosity about The Mandalorian, Disney’s soon-to-launch live-action TV series, is already sky high. And now marketing is going into overdrive with the release of promotional posters and the release of the latest trailer (No. 2) for The Mandalorian below:

Some posters just released by Disney introduce five main characters, including The Mandalorian, Cara Dune, Greef Carga, IG-11 and Kuiil.

Disney+ begins streaming The Mandalorian on November 12.

Countdown to “The Mandalorian”

September 29, 2019 – Disney’s release of the latest poster for The Mandalorian is having its desired effect of creating increased interest and buzz online for the new space Western series.

The new “Mandalorian” poster shows off (L to R): an Ugnaught riding on a Dewback; former Imperial Stormtrooper Cara Dune; the Mandalorian; and the droid IG-11. The twin suns of Tatooine form a backdrop evoking the classic Star Wars experience.

The live-action series will premiere on November 12, 2019, on the soon-to-be-launched streaming service, Disney+. The series takes place five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and 25 years before the emergence of the First Order depicted in The Force Awakens. It follows an independent Mandalorian bounty hunter “in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic”. Watch the official trailer below:

Not surprising to many, The Mandalorian appears to be drawing more interest and excitement than The Rise of Skywalker (premiering Dec. 20, 2019), which is the final movie of the Star Wars saga.

Perhaps it’s because we already know how TROS will end (Rey and the forces of good prevail; Kylo Ren is either redeemed or perishes along with the First Order). Meanwhile, the Jedi have become passé while the silent Mandalorian bounty hunter is intrinsically cool and mysterious. Moreover the series format means the audience will get to explore, in depth, several story-lines in the coming months and dive deep into the post-Return of the Jedi era.

If you enjoyed the grit and texture of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, then the trailer suggests you will likely enjoy The Mandalorian.
