May 21, 2015 – Displaying your vintage Star Wars action figures (1978-1985) can be quite the challenge for all sorts of reasons:

First, your collection isn’t really “complete” until you’ve amassed every last vintage character, starting with double-telescoping lightsaber Luke Skywalker and ending with Yakface.

… and then decide whether to include every variant ….

Then you have to contend with the endless task of dust, dusting and more dusting …

And hope your figures don’t fall over, domino-style, into a heap pf plastic.

To motivate you, here is one collector’s drool-worthy approach:

The display case is six feet long and about two feet tall. Glass floors are rimmed with a dimmable backlit LED tube. (Click to enlarge)

Here, the figures are placed in chronological order by release date, starting with double-telescoping Luke Skywalker (top shelf at left), then working left to right, and top to bottom. The final figure is one of the most difficult to find, and the last one released in the vintage line: Yakface.

The glass display case is only five inches deep. Electrical wiring is hidden behind the matte backing.
